About the position

The Energy Savings Cost Analyst at CARIAN is responsible for conducting detailed cost analyses of energy efficiency projects, developing financial models, and quantifying potential energy savings. This role involves collaboration with clients and technical teams to ensure accurate financial assessments and reporting, contributing to the company's mission of optimizing energy consumption for businesses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed cost analysis for proposed energy efficiency projects, including equipment costs, installation expenses, and ongoing operational expenses.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to obtain accurate and up-to-date cost estimates.
• Develop and maintain financial models to project the economic feasibility of energy efficiency initiatives.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Assess and quantify potential energy savings resulting from proposed efficiency measures.
• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts related to energy efficiency projects.
• Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
• Engage with clients to understand their financial goals and constraints related to energy efficiency projects.
• Communicate complex cost information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Prepare comprehensive reports outlining cost estimates, financial projections, and potential return on investment for clients.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in cost estimation and financial modeling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience as a cost analyst or in a similar financial analysis role.
• Strong financial modeling skills with proficiency in spreadsheet software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency concepts and technologies is advantageous.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting for projects is desirable.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to achieve common financial goals.
• Proficiency in developing and/or implementing data collection, tracking, and reporting processes (i.e., customer relationship management).
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining multiple deadlines.
