About the position

Guidehouse is seeking a Cost Analyst to support our federal customer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing enterprise cost models that allocate direct, indirect, and overhead cost pools for interoffice charging related to products and services. You will lead the development of fee cost models on behalf of service agencies, ensuring that accurate costs of products and services are provided to support rate setting. Your expertise will be crucial in advising and sharing information with the project team, which may impact or add value to tasks being performed concurrently. Additionally, you will assist the project manager with various project management activities, including status reports and forecasting, to ensure the smooth execution of projects. As a Cost Analyst, you will conduct data analyses and survey research to support your findings and recommendations. A key aspect of your role will be supervising, training, and mentoring associates throughout the engagement lifecycle, as well as assessing the performance of staff during engagement reviews. Maintaining good working relationships with clients is essential to enhance customer satisfaction, and you will work closely with client management and staff to perform engagement services effectively. Furthermore, you will assist with business development activities, which may include proposals, capture efforts, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and other thought leadership materials and training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise cost models to allocate direct, indirect, and overhead cost pools for interoffice charging.
  • Lead the development of fee cost models on behalf of service agencies to provide accurate costs of products and services.
  • Advise and share information with project teams that may impact or add value to concurrent tasks.
  • Assist project manager with project management activities, such as status reports and forecasting.
  • Conduct data analyses and survey research.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates throughout the engagement lifecycle and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews.
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and training.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree; OR FOUR (4) years' experience related to cost analysis or cost estimation and/or financial analysis.
  • ONE (1) or more years' experience related to cost analysis or cost estimation and/or financial analysis.
  • Experience working independently supporting client-facing roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in Activity-Based Costing (ABC), fee setting, modeling, and financial analyses.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to work with technical teams and business users.
  • Familiarity with cost estimating models, modeling and simulation principles, and operations research methods, particularly with statistical data analyses.
  • Experience with ABC software, such as SAS and CostPerform.
  • Experience with statistical-regression analysis software, such as R.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a project team.
