About the position

The Cost/Budget Analyst will support acquisition operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base, focusing on cost estimation and budget management for aerospace projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with financial processes, assisting in audits, and developing fiscal year budgets while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in analyses and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Build oral and written presentations for high-ranking acquisition leaders.
  • Perform in-depth complex analyses with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
  • Utilize Air Force and Space Acquisition terminology appropriately in communications.
  • Assist in the development, procurement, data collection, and implementation of tools and processes for customer acquisition programs.
  • Execute specific rules, regulations, and procedures related to financial processes.
  • Assist with internal audits to detect fraud, waste, and abuse, and assess management controls.
  • Develop and coordinate fiscal year budgets and analyze program execution and funding strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent additional experience (4 years).
  • At least 8 years of experience in cost estimating for aircraft and/or spacecraft applications.
  • 2 years of experience specifically supporting space or ground systems.
  • 8 years of experience in schedule management activities for government acquisition in the DoD or Federal Government.
  • 2 years of experience performing schedule risk assessments.
  • 4 years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 3 years of experience in Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tool (ACEIT) and FM Suite.
  • 2 years of experience with @ Risk or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience with space system related databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LiveLink and SharePoint.
