About the position

The Cost Control Financial Analyst will support the finance and program teams at Johnson Controls Federal Systems in York, PA. This role involves reviewing project budgets, managing schedules, preparing status reports, and developing reporting mechanisms to monitor financial progress on contracts. The analyst will be responsible for problem-solving and providing thorough analyses of complex issues to ensure effective financial management of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting on multiple projects of varying contract types and complexities.
  • Develop and analyze estimates at completion (EAC) including all project costs, meeting deadlines for submissions.
  • Synthesize data into actionable reporting for tracking and monitoring contract financial performance.
  • Administer and track the progress of contracts from award to closeout, including billing and cash flow analysis.
  • Monitor and prepare reports on cost and schedule variances to keep projects on schedule and budget.
  • Review and monitor contract funding and expenditures, ensuring accurate revenue recording according to EAC.
  • Create and provide work breakdown structures (WBS), program base-lining, risk assessments, visibility reports, and variance analysis.
  • Establish and analyze resource plans across multiple projects and cost centers.
  • Monitor project cost and performance trends, assisting in preparing cost/schedule variance analyses.
  • Assist with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration from an accredited university.
  • 5-7 years of program finance experience in the aerospace/defense industry or comparable financial experience.
  • Background knowledge of multiple contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF).
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, VBA macros).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) tasks including developing WBS and performance measurement baseline.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Cost Point and COGNOS reporting, OneStream.
