About the position

The Cost Management Member Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting Medi-Share members with their medical billing processes. This position involves managing a large caseload, communicating with members and healthcare providers, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is obtained for the processing of medical bills. The specialist will work onsite three days a week in Melbourne, FL, and is expected to align with the Christian values of the organization while providing support to members.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage a large caseload according to established processes.
  • Communicate with Medi-Share members and healthcare providers via phone, email, and fax.
  • Act as a single point of contact for members and healthcare providers to obtain required documentation.
  • Encourage members to apply for programs and submit bills to appropriate resources.
  • Effectively communicate guidelines to members and outside entities to retrieve necessary information.
  • Document case notes and status in the billing system (SalesForce, CSI).
  • Keep leadership informed of high-risk/high-dollar cases.
  • Offer to pray with members and providers when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 1-2 years' experience handling medical bills or medical bill processing (required).
  • 2-3 years' of phone experience (required).
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and database systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred).
  • Associate's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration (preferred).
  • Prior Cost Management experience (strongly preferred).
