About the position

The Cottage Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for buildings and cottages at Reynolds Lake Oconee. This role involves a variety of tasks including minor electrical work, plumbing, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of tools and equipment. The technician will also establish and maintain good working relationships with guests and contractors, responding to after-hour maintenance calls as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with general maintenance, repairs, and service of utilities.
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance of buildings and cottages.
  • Conducts minor electrical work as required.
  • Performs general plumbing work such as unstopping drains and repairing faucets.
  • Reviews all work products to ensure the highest level of quality.
  • Keeps tools, equipment, and machines clean and in safe operating order.
  • Follows all procedures for safe and efficient operation of tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Abides by all federal, state, and company safety guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with members, employees, guests, contractors, and vendors.
  • Responds to after-hour calls regarding maintenance/HVAC issues.

Requirements

  • General knowledge in all trades including electrical, plumbing, heating, carpentry, and painting.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, and drawings.
  • Valid GA driver's license with a good record.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, and lift a maximum of 100 lbs.
  • Ability to withstand various weather conditions.
  • Possesses skills of diplomacy and tact while dealing with members, employees, guests, contractors, and vendors.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office and the ability to learn new software systems.
