About the position

The Counsel (Growth and Marketing) at Humana is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of legal advice and services, focusing on supporting the company's senior-focused primary care operations. This role involves addressing moderately complex to complex legal issues, influencing departmental strategy, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Counsel will collaborate with various leaders within the organization to mitigate external risks and support growth and retention initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and services on moderately complex to complex issues.
• Support growth and retention initiatives for senior-focused primary care operations.
• Review broker interactions and primary care marketing materials.
• Collaborate with leaders throughout the company to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Make decisions on technical approaches for project components.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate with licensing in at least one state.
• At least 3 years of experience in health law at a law firm or in-house health care organization.
• Experience in Medicare or similar regulatory work.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and within a team.
• Ability to navigate complex organizations with diverse clients.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated knowledge of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
