About the position

The Counsel position at Humana involves providing a comprehensive range of legal advice and services, focusing on health law and supporting senior-focused primary care operations. The Counsel will work independently and collaboratively with various leaders within the organization to support growth and retention initiatives, review broker interactions, and assess marketing materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and services related to health law.
• Support growth and retention initiatives for senior-focused primary care operations.
• Review broker interactions to ensure compliance.
• Assess primary care marketing materials for legal compliance.
• Collaborate with company leaders to mitigate external risks and ensure adherence to laws.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate with licensing in at least one state.
• At least 3 years of experience in health law at a law firm or in-house healthcare organization.
• Experience in Medicare or similar regulatory work.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to navigate complex organizations with diverse clients.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated knowledge of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
