About the position

The Counsel for Growth and Marketing at Humana is responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and services, focusing on moderately complex to complex issues. This role supports the company's senior-focused primary care operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while protecting against external risks. The Counsel will influence departmental strategy and make decisions regarding project components, working both independently and collaboratively with various leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and services on moderately complex to complex issues.
• Support growth and retention initiatives for senior-focused primary care operations.
• Review broker interactions and primary care marketing materials.
• Collaborate with leaders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Evaluate variable factors in legal situations to make informed decisions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate with licensing in at least one state.
• At least 3 years of experience in health law at a law firm or in-house health care organization.
• Experience in Medicare or similar regulatory work.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a complex organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated knowledge of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
