About the position

The Counsel position at Humana involves providing a comprehensive range of legal advice and services, focusing on health law and supporting senior-focused primary care operations. The Counsel will work independently and collaboratively with various leaders within the organization to support growth and retention initiatives, review broker interactions, and assess marketing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and services on health law matters.
  • Support growth and retention initiatives for senior-focused primary care operations.
  • Review broker interactions to ensure compliance.
  • Assess and review primary care marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the company to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate with licensing in at least one state.
  • At least 3 years of experience in health law at a law firm or in-house health care organization.
  • Experience in Medicare or similar regulatory work.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and within a team.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations with diverse clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health care provider operations.
