About the position

Mint Mobile is seeking a talented Counsel to join the Business & Legal Affairs team, reporting to the Senior Director, Legal. This remote position involves supporting the Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile brands through transactional work and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Counsel will manage vendor and client contracts, create internal policies, and ensure compliance with relevant laws, including FCC, TCPA, and FTC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of complex contracts, including vendor, consulting, marketing, licensing, technology, master services agreements, reseller agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Create internal policies and procedures for shared services teams and broader business teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies, staying updated on legal developments.
• Develop mechanisms for detecting, reporting, and correcting compliance violations.
• Prepare for audits and investigations by maintaining records and designing procedures.
• Communicate legal risks in complex contracts to all levels of the company.
• Prepare training materials on contract principles and negotiation strategies.
• Partner with other departments to manage the contract approval process.
• Support consumer disputes and litigation as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law; California or New York preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience as an attorney, preferably in telecommunications.
• Experience in corporate transactional matters and general compliance support.
• Knowledge of legal matters around media, consumers, intellectual property, and rights of publicity.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel in the telecommunications sector.
• Familiarity with sweepstakes/contests laws and regulations.
