The Counsel - Technology position at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. The role requires a detail-oriented attorney who can effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations while supporting the company's innovative technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work with business units and the commercial legal team to ensure contracts include proper provisions regarding intellectual property, cybersecurity, and privacy.
- Ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations, supporting ongoing compliance with data collection and use, privacy disclosures, and related issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet cybersecurity laws and regulations, supporting compliance with data protection and IT security.
- Perform export compliance activities, providing legal guidance on export controls, sanctions, customs compliance, and trade regulations.
- Manage overflow work as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and Juris Doctor degree, admitted to the Michigan Bar.
- Two to five years of experience as an attorney.
- Technical background and valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
