About the position
As Counsel at Capital Group, you will be part of a prestigious Legal department within one of the largest asset management firms globally. This role involves providing legal support across various business areas, including portfolio management and compliance, while working closely with a team of experienced attorneys in a highly regulated environment. Your responsibilities will encompass legal research, document review, and project management, contributing to the launch of new business initiatives and ensuring compliance with federal securities laws.
Responsibilities
- Support legal and compliance efforts through research, writing, and project management.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and business associates in a regulated environment.
- Provide legal support for portfolio management, compliance, and investment operations.
- Engage in the review and launch of new business offerings and initiatives.
- Support securities transactions, including the review and negotiation of transaction documents.
- Help resolve issues related to investment guidelines, pricing, and trading.
- Prepare and review prospectuses and regulatory disclosures.
- Review new regulatory initiatives and assist in developing business processes in response.
Requirements
- JD degree with 3-6 years of experience at a top-ranked law firm or in-house at a financial services or investment management firm.
- Experience with federal securities law and strong academic credentials.
- Member of the State Bar of California or eligible to register as California in-house counsel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking and proactive teamwork.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
