About the position

The Counselor position at My Hope for Tomorrow involves providing high-quality addiction treatment through counseling services, supported by medical treatment. The role focuses on facilitating therapy sessions, creating individualized treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements, all aimed at helping clients achieve their recovery goals.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions.
• Discuss with clients their immediate and long-term treatment goals.
• Complete necessary documentation for compliance and client records in a timely manner.
• Conduct Clinical Assessments and initial treatment plans during admissions.
• Develop individualized Master Treatment Plans based on Clinical Assessments.
• Create treatment plan reviews outlining client progress and completion of objectives.
• Utilize outcome surveys to adjust clients' Master Treatment Plans as needed.
• Provide comprehensive client documentation including treatment plan updates and progress notes.
• Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives and adjust actions to meet goals.
• Engage in community education and marketing initiatives when requested.
• Attend staffing meetings, trainings, and weekly clinical supervision.
• Adhere to confidentiality laws and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
• Assign department head roles to clients and discuss notes during clinical meetings.
• Ensure timely completion of weekly clinical audit items.
• Collect and approve request slips for visits and appointments.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a similar field.
• WV licensed preferred but not required: LPC, LCSW, or LICSW.
• Experience in addiction counseling and/or substance abuse treatment.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, email, and EHR systems.
• Attention to detail and completeness in clinical notes and documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
