About the position

The Counselor position at New Chapter Faith Based Recovery involves providing therapeutic support to clients dealing with substance use and mental health issues. The role emphasizes Christian counseling principles and requires conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions to assist clients in their recovery journey. The counselor will manage a caseload, collaborate with psychiatrists, and ensure clients receive appropriate referrals and aftercare plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and family sessions in-person weekly, and remotely if needed.
• Conduct daily group sessions.
• Assess different levels of care for clients using ASAM criteria.
• Manage a caseload of 16-24 adults.
• Provide therapy using techniques such as DBT, MI, CBT, and individual psychology.
• Complete required documentation on a timely basis.
• Assist clients in developing treatment plans and attainable goals.
• Communicate with third-party organizations including probation officers and outside physicians.
• Collaborate with internal psychiatrists regularly.
• Provide clients and their families with referrals to necessary services and resources.
• Participate in supervision and clinical team meetings regularly.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) license.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in substance use and/or dual diagnosis.

Nice-to-haves
