About the position

The Counter Sales Associate at Daikin Comfort Technologies is responsible for selling the organization's HVAC products and services to both prospective and established customers. This role involves direct interaction with customers through various communication channels, ensuring their needs are met and providing excellent customer service. The associate collaborates with management to drive sales and maintain positive relationships with dealers, while also handling order processing and customer inquiries efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Sell the organization's products and services to prospective and established customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service via face-to-face interactions, phone calls, and emails.
  • Execute all aspects of the sales function including order processing, purchase orders, and payment processing.
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications as needed.
  • Obtain and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, sales, distribution, and vendors regarding shipments.
  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Educate customers about product terminology, features, and benefits to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist customers with warranties and returns.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on sales activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, some college preferred.
  • 1-3 years of progressive sales experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment/products is preferred.
  • General Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Effective customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Good phone and email etiquette.
  • Ability to handle high-volume customer traffic and explain technical information clearly.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in HVAC sales or related field.
  • Familiarity with database applications.
