About the position

The Counter Sales Associate at POOLCORP is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting walk-in and phone customers, processing sales orders, and ensuring a smooth sales process. This role involves establishing relationships with customers, handling inquiries and complaints, and performing data entry for sales orders. The position requires a strong customer-service attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with customers by assisting walk-in and phone customers.
  • Process, pull, and distribute customer products quickly and efficiently.
  • Handle questions and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately perform data entry of sales orders to generate invoices for products ordered.
  • Secure payment of invoices with proper funds or obtain credit authorization in accordance with company policy.
  • Evaluate and determine disposition of warranty items handled at the counter.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customers based on knowledge of vendor's production and delivery schedules.
  • Assist in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years related inside sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to move 100 pounds with a dolly.
  • Strong counter presence and ability to deal directly with customers.
  • Strong customer-service attitude.
  • Good computer skills including MS Office programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with inventory, product allocations, and customer issues.
  • Familiarity with a related product line such as pool supplies, parts, chemicals, or pool construction helpful.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Experience in the pool industry is helpful.
