About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Program Manager with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position that requires a flexible, hardworking individual with a 'can do' attitude, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent release cycles and rapidly changing priorities. The role involves supporting the Regulatory Portfolio for the Counterparty Credit Risk Technology team and taking on numerous diverse responsibilities that necessitate close partnership with senior business and technology managers. The IT Program Manager will provide direction and guidance to project managers to ensure the success of the work within the program. This includes direct delivery responsibility for projects, meaning end-to-end ownership of the program. The manager will oversee all projects within the program and be responsible for recognizing when individual projects may be off track. Identifying risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) is crucial, along with proactively managing and reporting these RAIDs. The role also requires reviewing and/or publishing the weekly status report for the program, consistently meeting with project managers to understand progress and issues across projects, and providing support as necessary. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for weekly status reporting and preparing materials to present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Regulatory Portfolio for the Counterparty Credit Risk Technology team
  • Provide direction and guidance to project managers to ensure success of the work within the program
  • Direct delivery responsibility for projects (i.e., end to end ownership of the program)
  • Oversight of all projects within the program and be responsible for recognizing when individual projects may be off track
  • Identify risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) and proactively manage/reporting RAIDs
  • Review and/or publish the weekly status report for the program
  • Consistently meet with project managers to understand progress and issues across projects and provide support as necessary
  • Responsible for weekly status reporting and preparing materials to present to stakeholders

Requirements

  • A flexible, hardworking and 'can do' attitude; comfortable working in a fast paced environment with frequent release cycles and rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate within a multi-disciplined team, across multiple locations and time zones, and to interact with demanding business users
  • Strong ownership and follow through
  • Strong project management and organization skills, attention to details
  • Familiarity with principles of scaled agile delivery, PI planning, and agile scrum methodology
  • Ability to remove obstacles and influence others to move projects forward
  • Strong financial markets product knowledge (any asset class)
  • Excellent technical skills; SQL, MS Excel, Jira, MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
  • Background in working closely with development teams
  • Broad understanding of all the projects within the program and be able to ensure release timelines and milestones are met

Nice-to-haves

  • Computer Engineering/Financial degree

  • Exposure to financial/product control functions within a bank
