About the position

The Intake County Casework Supervisor at Luzerne County Children & Youth Services is responsible for overseeing the operational planning, direction, and supervision of Intake services. This role involves managing a team of caseworkers and ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates while providing support and training to staff. The supervisor plays a crucial role in improving service delivery and making a positive impact on the lives of children and families in the community.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the General Protective Services Intake Unit, including five caseworkers and a Social Service Support Worker.
• Conduct regular supervisory conferences and meetings as needed with staff.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and policy mandates related to child welfare services.
• Monitor and analyze case records and staff performance.
• Participate in planning and providing in-service training activities for staff.
• Disseminate new or updated regulations and policies to the team.
• Maintain statistics as outlined in the reporting policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work.
• 12 college credits in relevant social sciences may substitute for experience.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
