About the position

The County Executive Director position at the Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Juneau County, Wisconsin, is responsible for overseeing and managing program and administrative operations across one or more counties. This role involves implementing farm bill programs and policies established by the USDA, managing crop insurance operations, and directing the activities of subordinate staff to achieve program objectives.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage program and administrative operations for one or more counties.
• Carry out permanent and ad hoc farm bill programs and policies established by USDA.
• Manage crop insurance operations under policies established by the Risk Management Agency (RMA).
• Perform farm loan program assignments based on delegated authorities.
• Conduct office and field activities to accomplish program objectives.
• Manage and direct activities of subordinate staff.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or US National.
• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service Registered or Exempt.
• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or 17 years of age for high school graduates.
• Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
• Direct Deposit required for federal payments.
• Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Successful completion of one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period, if required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in an FSA Supervisory position, CEDT position, or Program Analyst in Charge (Program Technician in Charge) position within the last 5 years.
• Completion of the CEDT program within the last 5 years.
