County HR Generalist

About the position

The HR Generalist position at Macon County involves performing skilled technical work related to personnel records, employment applications, job descriptions, and performance evaluations. The role supports the Human Resources department by maintaining files and records, processing employee data, and assisting with onboarding and benefits documentation. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of personnel administration and the ability to maintain confidentiality while effectively communicating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Key employee data into the MUNIS system.
• Process employee personnel action forms, job descriptions, performance evaluations, and certifications in MUNIS.
• Input background check information into the Castlebranch data system and track completion.
• Key Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) checks and report outcomes to the HR Director.
• Assist with processing onboarding and benefit documents.
• Complete employment and wage statements, I-9's, W-2's, and other benefit forms; verify employment and manage benefit card replacements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates/Technical degree with coursework in personnel management, public administration, or related field.
• Moderate experience in personnel management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of personnel administration and employee benefits administration.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of personnel records and discussions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees, and the public.
• Proficient in operating personal computers and applicable software packages.
