The County Program Analyst position at the Department of Agriculture in Vermont involves supporting various agricultural programs within the Rutland FSA County Office. Responsibilities

  • Carry out office activities related to agricultural programs.
  • Interpret and explain procedures, program regulations, and forms to producers and agency personnel.
  • Utilize web-based software applications to maintain producer data and process automated forms.
  • Plan and execute assigned tasks with a high degree of initiative and judgment.
  • Resolve problems encountered in the execution of duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of general work experience in agricultural operations or related fields, or a combination of education and experience.
  • For CO-07 level: One full year of graduate education or specialized experience equivalent to CO-5 or GS-5 level.
  • For CO-09 level: A Master's degree or two years of progressively higher-level graduate education, or specialized experience equivalent to CO-7 or GS-7 level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with agricultural management or governmental programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
