About the position

The County Road & Bridge Program Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and directing complex projects and services related to the County's Road & Bridge Program. This includes overseeing maintenance, construction, landscape, and heavy equipment fleet divisions. The role involves supervising professional, technical, and clerical staff, ensuring effective management of transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and direct complex projects and services for the County's Road & Bridge Program.
• Supervise professional, technical, and clerical staff involved in maintenance and construction activities.
• Manage the Maintenance, Construction, Landscape, and Heavy Equipment Fleet divisions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all projects.
• Respond to emergency situations and be available for 24-hour calls as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation infrastructure maintenance and construction, including roads, drainage, and bridges.
• Five (5) years in a responsible supervisory and/or managerial role.
• Valid Florida Driver's license and ability to maintain it during employment.
• FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification within nine (9) months of employment.
• FEMA National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) certification training within twelve (12) months of employment.

Nice-to-haves
