About the position

The Courier / Distribution / Receiving Clerk (CDRC) at Brownsville Community Health Center is a part-time role responsible for the distribution, receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, supplies, and equipment. The CDRC assists in inventory management, ensuring accuracy in shipments, and maintaining organized stock records. This position requires interaction with patients and the public, emphasizing professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute, receive, store, and issue materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in taking inventories and compiling stock records.
  • Inspect items for damages or defects and verify shipment accuracy.
  • Forward packing slips to the Purchasing Clerk and assist in entering receipts and stock transfers in the system.
  • Fill requisitions and deliver them to requesting departments.
  • Maintain the storeroom in an orderly manner and ensure cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Serve as a courier/distributor within clinic satellites or other agencies, handling specimens and sensitive information.
  • Establish and maintain organized files for the Purchasing Department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in shipping/receiving and inventory control.
  • Clean driving record and current TX driver's license.
  • Computer literacy and experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • College level courses in a related field.
  • Experience in purchasing procedures.
