About the position

The Court Operations Associate position in the Criminal Division of the Minnesota Judicial Branch involves supporting court operations by attending court sessions, managing case paperwork, and interacting with judicial officers and justice partners. This role requires a combination of administrative skills and customer service experience, with a focus on maintaining courtroom decorum and ensuring accurate case management.

Responsibilities

  • Attends court daily in person and remotely, updating cases in MNCIS and handling required paperwork.
  • Prepares court calendars and forms for court.
  • Checks people in and calls the court calendar.
  • Maintains daily contact with judicial officers, chambers, and justice partners.
  • Administers oaths for interpreters and defendants.
  • Operates standard office equipment such as computer, printer, scanner, copier.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant job experience or equivalent post-high school education and experience totaling one year.
  • Experience in customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months or more experience as a court clerk or in the legal field.
