As a Court Researcher, you will play a crucial role in the verification of criminal histories for employment applicants. This position requires you to report daily to the Taunton District Court, where you will conduct thorough research on criminal records and input your findings into our proprietary system. Your work schedule will be from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a minimum commitment of 4 hours each day. This part-time role is structured under a W2 status, ensuring you are recognized as an employee rather than a contractor. Your primary mission as a Court Records Researcher is to determine whether applicants for employment have any criminal history. While the majority of applicants may not have a criminal record, it is essential to accurately identify and report any records found. This information is vital for prospective employers to assess the suitability of candidates for the positions they are applying for. In this role, you will be responsible for researching applicants using the Criminal Index across various courthouses in Massachusetts. You will need to determine possible ID matches or confirm no match exists. The ability to report key facts from any matching criminal records accurately is critical. You will utilize a light laptop to manage search requests and document results, and training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped to perform your duties effectively.
