About the position
The Full Time Court Security Position is responsible for ensuring order and security within the courtroom to facilitate the efficient and secure operation of a high-volume courtroom. This role is non-exempt and requires a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all courtroom participants.
Responsibilities
- Ensure order and security within the courtroom
- Provide for the efficient and secure operation of a high-volume courtroom
Requirements
- Proficiency in the use of firearms
- Knowledge of physical control tactics
- Ability to apply de-escalation techniques
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment
- Pass a medical physical and psychological exam
- Complete a residential training program of 5-14 weeks
- Pass the Illinois P.O.W.E.R. test if required
