The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger plays a vital role in enhancing customer experience by providing exceptional service and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position is focused on ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication, assistance with grocery bagging, and adherence to safety and food regulations. The role is integral to fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customers to return.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers, ensuring at least five items per bag without damage.
• Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
• Help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts to designated areas.
• Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand the store's layout and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products.
• Report safety risks, illegal activities, and adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
