About the position

As a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger at Mariano's, you will play a vital role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Responsibilities

  • Bag groceries at checkout for customers, ensuring at least five items per bag while preventing damage to contents.
  • Assist in removing merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
  • Help customers load bags into their cars.
  • Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
  • Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts to return them to designated areas.
  • Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and parking lot.
  • Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
  • Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
  • Understand the store's layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions or accidents to notify store management.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any repair needs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
