About the position

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is seeking a part-time Courtesy Clerk for their Clinton Township location. The role involves assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring a safe shopping environment. The Courtesy Clerk will be responsible for bagging customer purchases, handling returns, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Bag and package all customer purchases and merchandise according to company guidelines.
• Assist in cleaning up spills and breakages to eliminate hazards.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to designated areas.
• Sort and handle return to stock items appropriately, especially perishables.
• Handle damaged or spoiled products according to company guidelines.
• Assist customers with orders and questions, especially large or bulk orders.
• Help customers load their purchases into their vehicles.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Greet customers and provide prompt and courteous service.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
• Notify management of any safety or equipment issues.
• Assist in training new associates when necessary.
• Support other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (cold, hot, snowy, wet, humid).
• Ability to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hours.
• Must be able to regularly bend, lift, and/or move 25 pounds.
• Must be able to push and pull multiple shopping carts safely.
• Ability to push/pull 50 pounds (e.g., shopping carts).
• Ability to multitask and maintain a positive attitude.
