About the position

The Courtesy Clerk position is designed to assist clerks and customers in a retail environment by bagging purchased items, collecting shopping carts, and ensuring the store remains clean and organized. This role is essential for enhancing customer experience and maintaining operational efficiency within the store.

Responsibilities

• Bag the customers purchases
• Assist customers to their vehicles with their purchases
• Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lots and surrounding areas
• Maintain cleanliness of the checkstand area
• Maintain cleaning and bagging supplies in the checkstand area
• Return non-purchased items to their proper shelf location
• Assist customers with their questions
• Secure price verification for clerks
• Maintain routine sweeping of the sales floor
• Break down and collect cardboard boxes
• Handle clean-ups as required throughout the store
• Other related duties as required

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• A valid work permit if under the age of 18
• Ability to read aisle markers, shelf tags and prices, and labels
• Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations
• Must maintain a sense of integrity

Benefits

• Hourly Pay Range: $16.10 - $16.30
• Covered under the UFCW union agreement
