About the position
The Courtesy Clerk at Brookshire Grocery Company is responsible for maintaining store conditions according to company standards while providing excellent customer service. This role involves engaging with customers, bagging and transporting groceries, and ensuring a safe and sanitary shopping environment. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, and emphasizes teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensures groceries are bagged properly by putting like items together and limiting bag weight.
- Collects shopping carts and stores them in the cart corral.
- Keeps parking lot free of trash and debris and communicates with management any incidents or concerns.
- Ensures front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning supply stations are stocked and presentable.
- Promotes product sales through active customer engagement.
- Cleans breakroom/restroom and faces products to ensure proper store conditions.
- Maintains a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers and assisting them with groceries.
- Adheres to company safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age required.
- Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
