About the position

We are seeking an experienced CPA to join our Family Office, focusing on tax and investment work, along with some business oversight. This role offers the opportunity for advancement and involves preparing, reviewing, and analyzing various tax returns, particularly in the real estate and energy sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal tax matters, including partnerships and trusts, and will play a vital role in ensuring compliance and accuracy in our financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare multiple types of tax returns on Prosystems fx including Form 1065, 1041, 709, and 1040, along with multiple states.
• Review ledger reconciliation and periodic review of accounts payable/receivable.
• Work with dozens of spreadsheets and databases, requiring in-depth knowledge of both.
• Brief senior managers regularly on the company's financial status.
• Coordinate and track tax payments and returns.
• Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly.
• Keep company financial information confidential.
• Help establish accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Certified Public Accountant.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Ability to adapt to different systems.
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge (strong ability with formulas, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
• Knowledge of other software - Access, Word, Adobe, Crystal Reports. Lotus would be a help.
