About the position

The Assistant Controller is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the accounting and control functions of the company. This role involves reporting operational results and providing necessary financial and control systems under the guidance of the Controller and CFO. The position will also play a key role in implementing a new ERP system, ensuring data integrity before import, and collaborating closely with the CFO on inventory control while serving as a backup for the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Establish policies, procedures, systems, and controls for effective financial recording, analysis, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance of financial records with accepted policies and procedures.
• Manage cash and line of credit on a daily basis.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and annual financial results.
• Compile annual budget and report results against it.
• Prepare various analyses to support operating management.
• Provide timely and accurate information for decision making.
• Maintain systems to safeguard company assets.
• Assist in supervising the accounting staff, including reviewing job responsibilities and providing feedback.
• Prepare balance sheet, cash flow, and income forecasts as needed.
• Maintain chart of accounts and prepare daily cash analysis.
• Make recommendations regarding accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
• Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving accounting operations.
• Collect data for federal, state, and local reports and tax filings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Ability to mentor and delegate work in a supervisory capacity.
• Highly detailed and organized with strong prioritization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
