About the position

The CPA Audit Manager will lead the Tax team, overseeing all stages of client services, managing projects, and ensuring high-quality audit and accounting services. This role involves team building, client relationship management, and providing strategic recommendations based on assessments of internal controls and audit findings.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of planning, supervising, and managing all stages of the firm's services for clients.
  • Lead decision-making for assigned projects and clients, keeping the engagement Partner updated on key decisions and client status.
  • Build a capable team by assisting in recruitment, planning work assignments, solving problems, providing direct guidance to staff, evaluating their performance, and leading discussions in professional development programs.
  • Assess internal controls and provide clear recommendations.
  • Review attestation workpapers thoroughly and give constructive feedback to team members.
  • Oversee the engagement process by monitoring time budgets, meeting deadlines, and regularly updating the engagement Partner with critical developments, conclusions, and recommendations while maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a preference for accounting majors.
  • CPA certification required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of audit experience is required.
  • Experience in personnel management is essential.
  • Previous experience in public accounting.
  • Experience in tax preparation and review is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to engage with management at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills; ability to make sound decisions.
  • Capable of handling multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Skilled in identifying technical issues and finding solutions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current developments in your area of expertise.
  • Advanced understanding of audit, accounting, and other related areas.
  • Familiarity with FASB standards, GAAP, and GAAS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in tax preparation and review is a plus.
