About the position

As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at Plaxonic Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our accounting and tax information. This position is based in Kalispell, MT, and offers a full-time opportunity with a hybrid work model. Your primary responsibilities will include recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering financial transactions to maintain accurate financial records. You will analyze complex financial and tax reports, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws while preparing corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing trial balances, and making necessary journal entries for financial transactions. You will summarize and prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements, which are essential for the company's financial health. Your expertise in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, will be vital as you navigate various financial tools to meet deadlines consistently. This position requires a CPA license and a minimum of five years of relevant experience, particularly in tax preparation and GAAP compliance. You will be expected to work an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, contributing to a dynamic team focused on delivering accurate financial insights and maintaining the highest standards of accounting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the integrity of accounting and tax information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Analyze complex financial and tax reports and records.
  • Maintain general ledger, prepare trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Make journal entries for financial transactions.
  • Summarize and prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns in compliance with federal and state government tax laws.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks effectively.
  • Meet a constant stream of deadlines.

Requirements

  • CPA License is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a CPA.
  • Experience in tax preparation and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and SOX regulations.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with general ledger reconciliation.
  • Ability to analyze account data and perform account analysis.
  • Familiarity with preparing trial balances and reconciling entries.
