About the position

The CPA Tax Accountant position is a full-time role focused on providing personalized tax services to clients. The accountant will be responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, performing tax planning, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns
• Perform tax planning and projections
• Update depreciation schedules
• Analyze client accounting records for necessary adjustments
• Assist clients with routine accounting questions and adjustments in QuickBooks
• Research and respond to IRS, state, and local tax notices

Requirements

• CPA or EA certification
• 3 - 5 years of recent tax experience
• Strong accounting skills
• Research and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• General ledger accounting experience (3 years preferred)
• Experience with QuickBooks (3 years required)
