About the position
The CPA TAX Associate position at a VC Start-Up Law Firm in NYC involves overseeing accounting, payroll, taxes, and financial reporting for the firm and its clients. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting the firm's growth in both domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate will be a leader who enjoys working with teams and will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting staff to ensure compliance with legal requirements in all markets.
- Manage the annual operating, capital, and program budgets.
- Support the achievement of business plans.
- Oversee capital expenditure and initiatives.
- Ensure robust financial forecasting and monitor updates for the CEO.
- Regulate cash flow in alignment with current company operations.
- Manage payroll processing and expense report processes.
- Ensure accounting project timelines are met and adhere to brand standards.
- Evaluate current accounting systems and determine the need for new systems related to accounting and payroll.
- Lead the implementation of new restaurant accounting systems.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience as an Accountant or CPA.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with AI or LLM.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a law office is preferred but not mandatory.
