About the position
The CPE Network Engineer position at Dexian involves troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues related to Access and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) devices. The role requires a strong background in DOCSIS and network infrastructure, with responsibilities including performance assessments, security parameter establishment, and network optimization recommendations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Englewood, Colorado, with a contract duration of over six months, potentially extending or converting to a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Access and CPE device field issues.
- Perform assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.
- Establish security, connectivity, and access parameters.
- Provide recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.
- Test and tune security devices and systems.
- Program routers and switches.
- Implement communications technologies (data or voice).
- Manage network services from planning phase through implementation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering or related field.
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies, and network infrastructure.
- Experience working with DOCSIS, ONU, CMTS, DAC, EC, troubleshooting, debugging, and CPE.
- Ability to write technical documentation and follow detailed technical test plans.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards.
- Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including Casa C100G, Arris E6000, Cisco cBR8, RPHY, Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, Vecima RPDs.
- Working knowledge of EPON platforms including ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3.
- Working knowledge of switch platforms including Cisco NCS/ASR, Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX.
- Working knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, v4/v6 Multicast.
- Creative network troubleshooting skills.
