About the position

The CPET Career Coach plays a vital role in supporting CalWORKS recipients as they transition from public assistance to meaningful employment. This position involves connecting participants with essential resources, facilitating program orientations, designing employment plans, and engaging participants in job search activities through a structured job club program. The Career Coach is responsible for reporting outcomes and progress to county partners, ensuring participants receive comprehensive support throughout their journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual case management services to CalWORKs participants, including career assessments and training enrollments.
• Collaborate with participants to develop and implement self-sufficiency plans.
• Coordinate CalWORKs activities such as work experience and community services, reporting progress to external partners.
• Facilitate employment readiness workshops covering topics like resume development and job search skills in a culturally responsive manner.
• Develop employer contacts and generate job leads, providing post-placement support to participants.
• Participate in employer recruitment events, job fairs, and networking events to assist participants in their job search.
• Accurately collect and document essential data related to job performance and program activities, ensuring timely entry into electronic systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy protection standards throughout data handling.

Requirements

• Experience in job development, career coaching, and case management.
• Knowledge of best practices for assisting economically disadvantaged populations.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in computer and internet applications, including MS Teams and MS 365 office suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CRM systems or County's CalSAW system.
• Familiarity with Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching.
