About the position

The CPS Billing & IT Specialist at Sunrise Transportation is a hybrid role responsible for managing billing operations and providing IT support. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and technical skills to ensure accurate invoicing and assist with IT-related projects, contributing to smooth operational workflows across finance and IT functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue invoices for services provided by CPS, including school bus transportation and field trips.
• Review contracts, work orders, and agreements to ensure accurate billing details.
• Maintain and update customer billing records in the internal CPS billing database.
• Monitor and track payments, ensuring timely collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Perform account reconciliations to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.
• Generate billing reports for management and assist in financial forecasting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing data during month-end close process.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing IT-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues related to account access and system errors.
• Log, track, and escalate IT support tickets to the IT manager when necessary.
• Assist in setting up new workstations for employees and ensuring they are operational.
• Support the IT team with ongoing projects, such as system upgrades and software implementation.
• Participate in the testing and rollout of new technology solutions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• 4+ years of experience in a technical billing or accounts receivable role, preferably within the transportation or service industry.
• Experience with IT help desk support or familiarity with basic IT troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Smartsheet, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and billing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot both financial discrepancies and basic IT issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
