About the position
The Child Protective Services Case Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, permanence, and well-being of children and youth in accordance with federal, state, and administrative codes and standards. This role involves engaging families, assessing their needs, and coordinating services to support children and families in crisis. The Case Manager will also participate in emergency response, court involvement, and community education related to child welfare.
Responsibilities
- Engage families to achieve a safe, stable home for children.
- Assess safety and develop safety plans.
- Build relationships with families and assess their needs for various services.
- Maintain contact with children, parents, and placement providers through various means.
- Complete thorough and accurate protective plans, safety plans, and case plans.
- Respond to crises and assess risk.
- Facilitate and administer drug screenings and provide therapeutic services.
- Transport clients to appointments and placements as needed.
- Submit reports to the court and attend court hearings.
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency situations.
- Document all interactions and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work or related field preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
- Two years of experience in Child Protection Services or related fields.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with a good driving record.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification or licensure in social work preferred but not required.
- Experience with Trauma Informed Care and strengths-based practice.
