The CPS Conservatorship Worker is responsible for overseeing the welfare of children who have been removed from their homes by Texas courts. This role involves working closely with families, legal parties, and other stakeholders to ensure that children in CPS conservatorship receive proper care and find a safe, permanent living situation. The position requires a Master's degree in Social Work and offers opportunities for salary increases based on qualifications. The worker will primarily operate in a mobile unit, utilizing technology to perform their duties outside of a traditional office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the welfare of children in CPS conservatorship.
  • Collaborate with parents, extended family, and legal parties to facilitate safe living arrangements for children.
  • Utilize mobile technology to conduct work outside of the office.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and agency standards regarding child welfare.
  • Participate in training and development to enhance competencies in child protective services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience in child protective services or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IV insertion and other medical procedures related to child welfare.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations regarding child protective services.
