About The Position

The CPS Social Service Specialist 2-3 In Training (SSS3) position at the State of Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is a vital role aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in the community. This position is located in Kelso, WA, and offers a salary range of $5,117 to $7,226 monthly, with the potential for a 10% assignment pay upon reaching the goal class of Social Service Specialist 3. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting visits in unregulated environments, such as private residences, to investigate allegations of abuse and neglect. The position requires assessing complex family situations, interviewing children and parents, evaluating child safety, and developing plans to protect children in their homes. The specialist will provide ongoing safety and risk assessments throughout the life of the case, take appropriate actions to protect children, and correct parental deficits through services. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the health and safety of children through regular visitation and utilizing FAMLINK to document case activities and maintain case records. The goal class for this position is Social Service Specialist 3, but candidates at the Social Service Specialist 2 level will also be considered, with a training plan to advance to the goal class.
