About the position
The CPT I position at Palomar Health involves performing blood specimen collection through venipuncture and capillary draws across all patient age groups. The role requires proficiency in ECG procedures and maintaining laboratory supplies, while adhering to established policies and procedures. The position also includes training new employees and interacting with customers in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood specimen collection by venipuncture and capillary draws for all patient age groups.
- Label and process specimens accurately.
- Maintain, restock, and manage laboratory supplies.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in operating 12-lead and 15-lead ECG machines.
- Complete the ECG class offered by the Cardiology department.
- Adhere to policies and procedures as directed by supervisors and management.
- Assist in training and orienting new employees.
- Interact with internal and external customers professionally.
Requirements
- Valid CA State Phlebotomy License (CPT)
- 6 - 12 months of experience or successful completion of Palomar Health Lab Extern program
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic college coursework with specialized vocational training
- 2 - 3 years of experience with 12 lead and 15 lead ECGs
