About the position

The Mobile Maintenance Automation Engineer at Nucor Steel Berkeley is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and automation equipment on overhead cranes and mobile equipment. This role emphasizes safety and requires the ability to uphold safety policies and procedures while working both scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including call-ins.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation equipment on overhead cranes and mobile equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including call-ins.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 Years of Industrial Electrical experience.
• 1 Year of Automation experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced automation development experience.
• Knowledge of overhead crane components/operation.
• Motor, motor controls, and AC Drive understanding.
• Four-year Electrical Engineering degree.
• Rockwell Studio / RS Logix experience.
• Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal experience.
• HMI programming experience (Wonderware / WinCC / Factory Talk / Ignition).
• PC and Basic Industrial Networking experience.
• PDA analysis.
