About the position

Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is seeking experienced Crane Operators to operate various types of cranes for moving heavy equipment and materials. The role involves operating small and large hydraulic and lattice boom cranes, ensuring safety and efficiency in lift operations. The position is available at different levels based on experience, including Crane Operator Leadman, Crane Operator I, and Crane Operator II, each requiring specific certifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate various construction cranes to move equipment and materials.
• Plan operational lifts.
• Inspect equipment for safety and functionality.
• Ensure all safety aspects of operating the equipment are adhered to.
• Follow signal directions from a signaler during operations.
• Assess the area of operations for safety issues and planning of equipment operations.

Requirements

• Current National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) credentials for the appropriate type of crane.
• Knowledge and experience in operating various small and large hydraulic cranes (up to 100-ton capacity).
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect equipment.
• Ability to illustrate load planning and lift planning.
• Current NCCCO LBC Certification.
• Up-to-date Crane Operator Physical.
• Knowledge of proper hand signals.
• Reliability and accountability in performing administrative processes such as equipment inspection paperwork.
• Willingness to assist in other duties when not operating the crane.
• Ability to follow instructions correctly and adhere to safety regulations.
• Effective communication skills and teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

• Former employee of Richard Construction Inc. from a Reduction of Force (ROF).
• NCCER Lattice Boom Crane (LBC) Certification as a Crane Operator.
• Experience in hydraulic small and large cranes up to 100 tons capacity.
• Formal/Technical education.
