About the position

The Crating Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the crating and warehouse operations, ensuring efficient management of crews and customer interactions. This role involves scheduling, supervising staff, managing safety protocols, and maintaining high operational standards in terms of volume, cost, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crating and warehouse crews, including department management and customer interfacing.
• Develop, plan, and implement schedules for crating crew in alignment with customer work orders.
• Direct workforce to meet operational goals in terms of volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Supervise crating supervisors, leads, and department drivers.
• Hire, coach, train, and manage the performance of crating crew.
• Train crating crews in best operational practices with an emphasis on safety.
• Coordinate safety training and manage accident investigations and reporting.
• Organize project information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage purchasing, vendor management, and inventory for crating materials.
• Collaborate with accounting for accurate customer invoicing and payments.
• Investigate customer complaints and develop solutions in collaboration with the sales team.
• Participate in customer bids/estimates to accurately price projects.
• Attend leadership and management meetings as requested.
• Build relationships with customers and employees through effective communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma with continuing education in Business, Project or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum three years of operations management experience in construction, manufacturing, warehousing, or crating industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, management, supervisory, and project management skills.
• Self-directed and motivated individual.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and other business software.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
