About the position

The Creative and Brand Director is responsible for developing and executing API's brand and creative services, ensuring brand integrity across multiple platforms and departments. This role involves guiding the creative vision for campaigns, managing brand compliance, and overseeing the organization of visual and digital assets. The director will work closely with various departments to create a cohesive brand identity and will lead a team of designers to enhance API's marketing efforts and brand identity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate the creative vision for campaigns, projects, and branding initiatives.
  • Create and direct the execution of API's brand and corresponding assets, ensuring proper usage of the API logo and style guides.
  • Collaborate with all API departments to develop a cohesive brand identity for all materials.
  • Manage brand compliance to guarantee consistency in messaging output across all departments.
  • Organize and provide access to all API visual and digital assets for staff.
  • Provide art direction for video, web, and photography projects.
  • Work with the Executive Office to produce high-quality API-branded events.
  • Communicate API's value proposition throughout the brand architecture to support marketing strategies.
  • Plan, develop, and direct API marketing efforts to increase brand identity, liaising with GIS leadership and marketing functions.
  • Manage and develop the creative group, ensuring integrated design across all collaterals and digital assets.
  • Oversee the website redesign process and implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Manage creative vendors and consultants to ensure brand identity and quality of product.
  • Plan and direct all creative work award submissions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of management experience.
  • Degree in communications or marketing preferred.
  • Expert in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Expert in Adobe CC Suite and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong experience in campaign strategy, graphic design, web building, CRM implementation, email marketing, and social media.
  • Ability to use illustration, photo, motion graphics, and video to execute project tactics.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively to execute project strategies in a timely and budget-conscious manner.
  • Budget management proficiency.
  • Proven experience with project management and leading teams.
