About the position

The Creative Content Designer plays a key role in crafting compelling digital and print assets that enhance our brand and engage audiences. This position is essential in interpreting and adhering to new brand guidelines, advancing content design standards, and collaborating with marketing channel owners to influence content strategies. The Creative Content Designer will co-own the design process and partner closely with creative and marketing teams to realize projects from ideation to production and launch. In terms of content creation and design, the designer will be responsible for creating and designing digital assets, such as social media graphics, website banners, email templates, presentations, and print materials like posters, billboards, and flyers. They will also develop engaging multimedia content, including videos, animations, and infographics, to support marketing campaigns, program and exhibition launches, and internal communications. The designer will interpret and champion new brand guidelines and work collaboratively with the creative team and social media manager to create and iterate on design concepts from ideation to production and launch. The role also involves content strategy and optimization, where the designer will contribute to evolving standards, guidelines, methods, tools, presentations, and review sessions. They will collaborate with marketing channel owners to influence campaign content strategies and participate in design critiques to drive brand consistency and improve content quality across channels. Additionally, the designer will consider the holistic customer experience and accessibility needs as it pertains to content and the digital experience, conducting content discovery and competitive research, and using analytics and testing methods to evaluate and improve content. The Creative Content Designer will also support the internal culture at MoPOP, contributing to a consistent customer service standard across all departments and ensuring that customer service is ingrained at the core of the team. A commitment to participating in anti-racism work and supporting teammates in operationalizing DEIA strategies is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create and design digital assets, such as social media graphics, website banners, email templates, presentations, and print materials like posters, billboards, and flyers.
  • Develop engaging multimedia content, including videos, animations, and infographics, to support marketing campaigns, program and exhibition launches, and internal communications.
  • Interpret and champion new brand guidelines.
  • Co-own the design process and collaborate with the creative team and social media manager to create and iterate on design concepts from ideation to production and launch.
  • Create, contribute to, and evolve content design standards, guidelines, methods, tools, presentations, and review sessions.
  • Collaborate with marketing channel owners to influence campaign content strategies.
  • Participate in design critiques to drive brand consistency and improve content quality across channels.
  • Consider holistic customer experience and accessibility needs as it pertains to content and the digital experience.
  • Conduct content discovery and competitive research.
  • Test, evaluate, and improve content using analytics, customer success data, and methods like A/B testing, readability testing, and usability testing.
  • Support internal culture and contribute to a consistent customer service standard across all departments.
  • Participate in anti-racism work and support teammates in operationalizing DEIA strategies.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of experience with multimedia content design.
  • Experience complying with and contributing to brand voice and tone standards.
  • Deep experience working collaboratively with other disciplines to build content.
  • An understanding of how content design drives business growth.
  • Samples of work and process, from writing and designing to research and documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of accessibility and inclusion in content.
  • Meticulous organization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex design problems with vision and ease.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines under tight timelines.
